Religion and School informs about a very interesting initiative promoted by the Spanish Episcopal Conference having on the horizon the design of the new Religion curriculum on the occasion of the LOMLOE . We summarize in the following paragraphs the presentation of this Online Discussion Forum by the Education and Culture Commission , and we leave the more detailed program below.
As is customary in all educational reforms, each law entails its own curricular framework, which will mean the renewal of all school curricula. The LOMLOE will not be an exception and will force to change the curriculum of all areas and subjects, including Catholic Religion . In the area of Catholic Religion, it will be necessary to update their curriculum, from Early Childhood Education to Baccalaureate, within this LOMLOE curricular framework. […]
In order to respond to these needs, the Episcopal Commission for Education and Culture has organizeda process of debate and participation, a dialogue among all and for all, that allows us to consider all the issues that must be taken into account in the revision of the Catholic Religion curriculum . The starting point of this process will be the open call for four virtual forums that, in the current framework of ecclesiastical and civil educational reflection, will enable a review of the sources of the curriculum. They will be on Tuesday, February 23, and March 2, 9 and 16, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
